Photography Arch Viz

Postby Elyaradine » Fri Feb 05, 2010 11:39 am

I'm sitting in on extra photography lectures. Their assignment for this module is to take photographs of architectural interiors and exteriors. Seeing as I'm sitting in to gain better knowledge of artistic photographic lighting so that I can light my 3D stuff better, I'm planning to do some arch viz stuff for the assignments. To be honest, I probably won't have much time to finish much of the stuff - I certainly don't have the time to wait several hours to render a full 10Mpx image - but it's good to learn anyway, and I'll do as much as I can.

The school ordered a full set of Dell PCs (Core i7 + 4GB RAM + Quattro), so I might just render on the school computers instead. I've never really touched distributed bucket rendering, but I might as well give it a go. ^_^

This is a little preview; just a quick 3 minute render with lowish settings (hence the grain). I'll be adding more decorations that fit the style. I'm not entirely convinced of the composition; I think that adding some hanging objects on the ceiling would improve it, but I'll see later on. The full sized render (which I'd have to render out in passes if I don't wish my computer to die) would be 10x the length and height of this preview.

Looks wicked but the roof looks way too low on a quick scan on the image compared to the tables and chairs. O_o
