Just at looking at a distance - thumbnails size, it looks like i'm looking at her back - just her head is on backwards, most of her anatomy looks like it's the back and not the front. But i'm sure u will get that sorted once you have started with the definition.

Also she doesn't have much of a neck, breasts are flat and undefined, her upper body looks almost too long - looking at how she bends at her waist as she raises her leg - where it bends should be at where the 2nd lowest rib is, and her ribcage is certainly too just a little too long - judging by where it ends on the right hand side.

Looking at it from a distance helps make these little things apparent.

For our drawing class this year so far, we've shifted into doing a lot of really fast drawings, some of which are as short as 10 seconds. Now that we're in the audiovisual faculty, the focus of our drawing classes has shifted more toward being able to draw things relatively accurately, quickly, for use in sketching out quick storyboards for our animations/films.

Part of this comes down to learning anatomy. An understanding of where certain landmarks are and how they are affected by weight leads to faster, more convincing drawings, and knowing what part of the body goes where and what shape/size it is means that one needs to think much less about what comes next, and more about the actual pose and the action.

As such, my drawings so far are really simple, and don't look like much.

For homework though, we're supposed to copy various master drawings and study their composition, the structure behind...

Project Gustav

It's a Microsoft Research project that attempts to simulate real-world painting, mixing and drying. Except that we heard the same stuff announced for Photoshop CS5 (may the tilt actually work, and may Adobe actually fix all bugs that pop out, rather than stabbing their customers in the back).

Apparently Corel Painter's fairly decent brush simulation isn't good enough. This version apparently does realistic twirls when you rotate the brush and such. Hmmm.

Whoo! They released a new (free) plugin that's supposed to be a one-click UV-unwrap solution!

There're apparently some problems in that it may be difficult to paint where the seams should be exactly (as Zbrush doesn't let you select edges, so much as paint large areas), but the stuff it spits out seems to be a good starting point. The demos show cheap, distortion-free UVs.

This is the one-click unwrapping. The face breaks up when you don't paint some of the protection areas in, but other than that, it's a really nice unwrap.

Allo! I'm finally on a proper computer!

There's some really cool stuff going on there. The only problem I can see in some of them is maybe in terms of composition. If you take the last signature as an example, the main figure's body is tilted to face the left, but he's also placed toward the left of the signature, and the text is placed there too. This makes the image very left-heavy, off-balance and uncomfortable. That would be fine if that was your theme, but that doesn't seem to be the case here, and offsetting the main figure the same amount - but on the right - would improve your balance.

The other one that's a bit glaring is the second one, where the main figure's face is cut off. I get that you wanted the gun to stay in too, but scaling him down to fit both in may have been the better choice. I'd also...
